Rep. Jimenez named to House committees on agriculture, higher education, business and trade

SPRINGFIELD – State Representative Sara Wojcicki Jimenez (R-Springfield) has been named to four House committees dealing with agriculture, higher education spending, business licenses and international trade.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to serve on committees which are so important to central Illinois,” Jimenez said. “Each of these plays a large part in our local economy: farms and agribusiness, colleges and universities, businesses large and small, and exporting Illinois products around the world.”

Each of the four committees, Agriculture and Conservation, Appropriations-Higher Education, Business and Occupational Licenses, and International Trade and Commerce, will begin meeting again when the House reconvenes in January. Jimenez’s 99th district includes many rural farming areas of Sangamon County, as well as the University of Illinois Springfield and Lincoln Land Community College.

“This is a great opportunity to make a difference on issues that affect the daily lives of so many residents of Sangamon County,” Jimenez said.

The House is back in session January 13.
