Rep. Jimenez: Great turnout, great discussion at New Berlin Economic Development Summit

State Representative Sara Wojcicki Jimenez hosted her third economic development meeting in the 99th District on Monday August 29th at the New Berlin Village Hall. The meeting included elected officials and business leaders from New Berlin and Pleasant Plains. The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) provided information to the attendees about economic development programs that are offered through the state that can help local communities with attracting businesses, improving local roads, and maintaining open lines of communication with the State.

“I was glad to be able to bring local officials in the 99th district together to talk about economic development issues here in Sangamon County. While we face tremendous challenges as a state, it is critically important to keep the lines of communication open between local and state government. IDOT and DCEO play an important role in our state’s economic development prospects and allowing our local leaders to hear from them and ask questions will be beneficial to the long-term economic progress of Sangamon County. My thanks to New Berlin Mayor Steve Frank for hosting us and for the great conversation at the meeting," Representative Jimenez said.
