Sara Wojcicki Jimenez was sworn in as the State Representative for the 99th District on November 20, 2015.

A graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and the University of Illinois at Springfield, Jimenez worked as a reporter for KHQA in Quincy and WICS in Springfield before taking a position as deputy director of communications for the Illinois State Treasurer’s office. She worked as press secretary for the Illinois House Republican caucus and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and Program Communications for the Illinois state comptroller’s office. Jimenez most recently worked as chief of staff to Illinois First Lady Diana Rauner.

She was elected to a term on the Springfield Park District Board in 2011. She was an advocate for parks and recreation opportunities in Springfield while collaborating with other trustees during tough economic times.

Jimenez, 38, has lived in the Springfield area since she was 5. She attended Cathedral Grade School and Ursuline Academy. She and her husband, Jose Carlos, live in Leland Grove with their 5-year-old twin sons Charlie and Augie.
